Really enjoyed the combination of sound, image and written information. The somewhat vintage style of the graphics and the upbeat  music work well and the information is clear and concise. This was done as a student Animation Project in 2009 by  Mariko Nishimura. (There is nothing to say which college Mariko attended.)

So graphic design is the new commercial art it seems. And this clip is already 7 years old which means the technology is probably quite dated. Is it necessary for technology to move so fast?  Does time have to speed up so that we can do things ever more quickly?

I feel some concern about the different skills. Where is the physical drawing, the relationship with the pencil and the paper, the development of  “looking” and representing either figuratively or in abstract. I wonder if the process is lost in the race for an outcome. Is there space for pondering, dreaming into the project or is it mostly mechanical now? And am I simply a Luddite?
